Butterflies & Missions - B3
Good morning. It is 4;30 AM and I am up writing because I am having sinusitis and it is difficult to to sleep at the moment. I have urgent prayer requests Please.
On the mission field many times I am asked for all that I have. I can give freely knowing that God will supply any need that I have, I am supplying another person’s prayer request. OR wisdom steps into my mind and I realize God is supplying a need that it is for me and the answer is no. On the mission field here it is a fine line that I have become very aware of need and greed, desperation and wisdom, and finally, accountability/responsibility and laziness. I have to keep an ear pointed to heaven and my heart tuned to the Holy Spirit. I do that by reading the word of God and meditating and praying on it Today I rest in Psalm 141. I call upon the Lord, - come. Please hear me Lord, may my prayer be a sweet sound to you as I lift up my hands in worship to you Set a guard upon and over my mouth - keep watch over my lips , Lord Do not let my heart want evil things, keep me from wickedness and people who want to do those things, do not let me desire the things in which they find pleasure Let the righteous be my guide and rebuke me in Your lovingkindness - let me receive it I pray against the wicked deeds of men I am not here to judge or be judged and cast aside those who want to bring me down My eyes are on you LORD, I look towards you in all things I rest in you Lord, I know you won’t leave me defenseless, and keep from the traps they have set for me . protect me Lord. Let the wicked fall into their own traps as I pass by with angels at my side, safely. Of course this is my interpretation. As I spent time at the orphanage the first day 2 weeks ago, I quickly realized that there are many issues and I need help. I am not discouraged……….. and I know that God will provide. He is already laid the plan and if we can all come together He will reveal and implement that plan. If not, I can do what He sent me here for and then let happen what they will do. Sometimes that is the hardest part. Showing God’s Love through sacrifice and action are sometimes hard to implement . For me it is just obedience. I was giving a tuktuk ride to a couple I had met on Saturday to their ancestral home. I met her parents and was telling them about the kids. They opened a door and gave a Sack of Maize!! Enough for at least 5 days ! then the son gave a field of sweet potatoes and some pumpkins ! God is good ! Please help if you are able Things needed ASAP: FOOD TOILETS SUSTAINABILTY - I have 2 projects for this IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TO THE TOILET FUND? HA HA Please see my donate button or info to send money to the church for a tax deductible receipt. Let go of the outcome and just do what he asks. Let God be glorified. If I don’t see the fruit how can i be disappointed with the future? The future is the Lord’s and He knows what will happen and His lan is in place for all scenarios. I am thankful to be in service this way. On a brighter note : I was able to commission Edgar off to YWAM!! An amazing young man on fire for Jesus and the will of God in his Life - He started his YWAM DTS on Monday, at YWAM Hopeland Jinja, Uganda. Please pray for his new Journey with God. Greetings from Kenya! The weather here is pretty much perfect, other than it being the Dry season. There is a drought at the moment that has caused boreholes and wells to dry up. Most communities get water from a very few places at the moment and we have to wait for a long time on QUEs to get 20 liters, 50 liters :Whatever container you have to fill up. It is usually 5 KSH per 20 liter of water ( about $.05) to get from a local community water source. When that water source runs dry we look for another. It is the Season. But don’t worry - there is also bottled water. I just prefer not to have all that waste and plastic garbage. If I have to I will buy bottled water. At the moment I have purchased 2 - 50 liter tanks containers and have them both filled and this should last a while. I will just be mindful of my use of water. The biggest thing for me is keeping clean. Most important are my body, kitchen cookware and drinking water, and I will worry about laundry another day. This next weeks forecast will be SUNNY and highs of 95!!! the evenings cool down to 64-65 and is quite nice to sleep. Sunrise is usually at 6:45-7 am and sunset is usually 7-7:15pm. A very nice long day. The humidity here is a steady 25-30%. My time so far has included : In Nairobi - I met Mary Normans and Mary ( her friend) with Paul and we had a wonderful time of fellowship. I will be doing ministry with them in the near future. I have been catching up with dear frineds: Maria & Roger, Steffi, Paul, Elvis & Maurice, Geoffrey’s family and I got to meet BABY MASON!!!, and Mahesh & Cecelia. I also was able to see Rebecca. Rebecca is in Nairobi and has a check up Monday to see about the next steps of her cancer treatment. PLEASE pray for Healing of her cancer. Preaching at Kanduyi Baptist church, Meeting the S.W.E.A.T. kids and bringing them fresh banana, pineapple , bisquits and sweets. I met with the church members on Sunday and expressed to all members that I will be dealing with only Robert. I just feel that this helps with any confusion with the projects. Pastor Robert and I will meet February 9th, 2018. One of my desired fundraising efforts was to pay for a missionary to train with YWAM Hopeland. The base is located in Jinja, Uganda and I think it is one of the most beautiful bases I’ve been to. I was received all the funds of $400 to send Edgar to YWAM Hopeland. He will start his DTS on Feb 11th. 2018. I am hopeful that he will come back to his local community and start some amazing groups for bible study and to take over the projects that I start here. Edgar is a great guy and has a strong desire for evangelism and ministry. Please be in prayer for him as he starts this new journey. PREACHING and Teaching : I’ve been in I Corinthians 4 — Judgement 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will bring both to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. I am not here to judge others actions or lives. I am not here to be judged. I tell people that God is the Judge and we will all stand before him and be accountable to our own life. We need to be mindful that we can not hide anything. God sees all we do and knows what we think, and He hears all we say and all that we do not say. They cant hide….. and neither can I. . We are all falling short everyday, and each morning with breath in my lungs I feel I am given a gift. I used what Matthew West said at his concert, “ I am ALL IN> 2 small words separately, but when you put them together they are EVERYTHING> “ I have rented a house and I am preparing it for other missionaries to come and stay. I am excited to hear their stories and project ideas. I am also preparing for the upcoming projects at S.W.E.A.T. Robin’s Nest is doing quite well. I am excited to see all the progress with the fishpond and see my amazing friends and staff at the Shamba. There are many things to accomplish that Robin has asked me to check in and to meet with the girls to see how they are faring on. I look forward to keeping busy. I will also be checking in with Sister Mary Jehoshaphat with St Jospeh’s Home for the mentally challenged and epileptic children. I love their orpahnage and all they are doing. Updates / PHOTOS will come every week or two weeks dependent on my schedule but keep checking in with me and say hi !!! I hope to also post some videos . Love to you all and stay strong back in Minnesota! Its cold and Beautifully SNOWY!! Charise |
